Memorial Day

Mommie told me about a holiday that is happening this weekend called Memorial Day.  It is a special day set aside each year to honor the men and women who died in military service.

One good way to to do this is to fly an American flag.  Some people go on family picnics and watch fireworks ( I'm kind of scared of fireworks - they make a really loud noise!).

If you know someone who has served, or is now serving, in the military, now would be a good time to thank them for all they have done to keep us free and safe.

Have a happy Memorial Day!

There's a New Fun Activity on my Website

Mommie just now posted a fun crossword puzzle on the Activity Page of my website at www.alvietheburro.com

What makes it so fun?  It's all about me, of course!

You have to read my stories to be able to solve the puzzle correctly.  But it's not too hard.  When you have finished, please send me a message to let me know it you liked it.  There is a link to send me a message on the Activity Page too.

I can't wait to hear from you!

Hay Fever - Oh No!

A-Choo!  Excuse me, please.  Another big sneeze!  I have sneezed so much lately.  And my nose itches too.  When your nose is as big as mine, and it itches, then you have big trouble!  A-Choo!  Excuse me again.

Mommie says I must have hay fever.  I really like hay.  Next to oats and burritos, hay is my favorite food.  I sure do hope I'm not allergic to it!  But even if I am, I'll just have to get used to it.  I don't think I could ever stop eating hay - it's sooooo yummy!

Burrito Means "Little Burro"

Mommie and Daddy were watching TV last night.  They were watching a program on the Food Network called "Throw Down with Bobby Flay".  It is so funny.  Mr Flay challenges another cook to a contest to see who can make the best food.  Sometimes he wins, but sometimes the other cook wins.  They always make really yummy looking food, and all the people in the crowd get to eat it!  Yum Yum!

Last night the contest was for making Burritos.  And guess what?  I found out that the word "burrito" means Little Burro!  How about that?  Since I am a little burro, I guess my new favorite food will have to be burritos.

Playing in the Yard

Oh my!  Mommie's flower garden looks so nice!  It is very colorful.  She works in her garden for hours every Saturday, so I guess that's why it looks so pretty.  And Daddy mows the grass too.  It is so beautiful.  It looks like a green carpet!

I sure am glad that spring is finally here, aren't you?  I like the warm, sunny weather because I get to go outside and play in the yard.

Sky and Valentina like to go out with me and we all have such fun!  Since we are all so small, we play Hide and Seek among the flowers.  Since Sky's legs don't work so well, he can't do the "seek" part very well.  He is good at hiding though.  It is so hard to find him when he hides.  He hides behind the leaves and gets real quiet.  Then he stretches his neck up and yells BOO! at Valentina.  It really makes her jump and she squeals too.  Ha Ha Ha!  But I don't think she is really scared, she just likes to pretend that she is.

What games do you play in the yard?

New Picture to Color

Mommie just put a new picture to color on my website.  It's on the Activity Page.  It is a cute picture of my sister, Valentina, and me.

Be sure to send me a message and let me know if you had fun coloring it.
