Mommie's Paintings

You may not know this but my Mommie is a really good painter.  She paints pictures of fish for my Daddy - he likes to go to the Great Smoky Mtns. and fish for trout.  So she paints pictures for him.  I think they are really pretty.

She put them on a website so everybody can see them.  The website is www.troutpainter.com.  You can even buy one if you want to.

New "Find the Words" Game on my Website

There is a fun, new "Find the Words" game on my website at www.alvietheburro.com.  Try to solve it before you look at the answers.

There are lots of other interesting things to do on my Activity Page too.  If want something fun to do this summer, try of the games, or make some yummy oatmeal cookies - oats are my favorite food, you know.

Oil in the Gulf

Last night Daddy and Mommie watched the news on TV.  There were sad pictures of birds, fish and turtles covered in oil in the Gulf of Mexico.  I don't really understand everything that happened, but I feel so sorry for those animals.  I'm sure they are confused about why their home is covered in oil and doesn't smell or taste the same anymore.

I am so glad that my home is still clean and nice.  I know that I want to do everything I can to keep it that way.  Here are some things I can do to protect the place I live:
- When I see trash on the ground I can pick it up and thow it away in a trash can.
- And never throw trash on the ground myself!
- I can remember to turn off the water and lights when I don't really need them.
- I can help Mommie plant pretty flowers to make our yard look nice.
- I can put out seeds and water for the birds.

Can you think of other things you can do to keep your home nice and clean?

It's HOT Already!

Whew! It sure is HOT and it's not even true summer yet.  (The first day of summer is June 21.)

Lots of the kids in my neighborhood are playing at the pool everyday...but I don't like water!!  Daddy always tries to get me into the water to take a bath, but I tell him that burros don't take baths.  I try to just LOOK at water, not get in it.  Anyway I think I smell sweet without taking a bath.

To cool off, I just get under a big shade tree and take a nap.  Naps are one of my favorite activities.  Well, technically speaking, a nap is not an "Activity", but you know what I mean, don't you?
